First concert?
Matchbox twenty my sophomore year in high school with my friend scott and his parents. It was at the Austin music hall and was a great show. I finally met the band 4 concerts later haha. And No I am not a stalker by the way!
First started in radio?
Colorado springs when I was 18 years old. I was going to school for radio and working at Camelot music. My now best friend was part of a local morning show. So I got in and interned. One time I was duct taped to a light pole 15 feet in the air by a lake while it was snowing haha. Can we say frost bite!!!
First time i was speechless?
Ohhhh when I met Mariah carey after her show at red rocks. It was the night before I moved here and I went to the show with my wife, mom, dad, and a few friends. When we went back to meet her I was like ummm ummm and finally my mom stepped up and said “hi this is my son” of course like a retard I am like “ my mom cried during hero” twice I said that in a row ha. Mariah grabbed my mom’s hand and said “aww that’s so nice” but you and I both know that was her way of saying “aww I am sorry you have a retard for a son” haha
First time I turned the mic on here at z96?
August of 2003 and boy was I scared out of my mind. Yeah I had been in radio a few years already but mainly in promotions. I am used to being the behind the scenes guy not the hit the button and talk to thousands of people guy haha. I can tell you honestly though there is nothing better than getting the chance to talk about your favorite music artists everyday and get paid for it.
Coolest Artist i ever met?
Well you would think i would say Mariah Carey BUT... I gotta say Willie Nelson or Rob Thomas. Rob had just won his Grammy with Santana... He was AWESOME.
Rudest Artist i ever met?
It would either be Gwen Stefani during her last tour with No Doubt or Tim McGraw during his Set this Circus down tour. Gwen was all about herself and didnt want to be there... and Tim wouldnt let you talk to him at all. No joke i had to shake hand, smile at camera and Move on... OHH and his manager introduced me like i was meeting a king WACK.
