Social media has been on fire since the University of Washington cheerleading squad posted a poster with “do’s and don’ts” of how girls should look for their upcoming tryouts.
Internet users say the poster encourages body shaming and puts appearance over ability with “body do’s and don’ts” like requirements for being “physically fit” with an “athletic physique.” They also ask that potential cheerleaders wear just a sports bra and mid-rise black shorts, while telling them not to wear any tops “that cover the midriff” or high-waisted shorts. University of Washington removed their post, but the following graphic remains on the Facebook page for Washington State University.
