October 29th

Planetarium Special Feature: Spooky Secrets, is October 29th with shows at 5, 6 and 7pm. Come dressed in Halloween costumes, get your Trick-or-Treat candy, and prepare to be scared! We’re ready to celebrate Halloween under the night sky in our inflatable planetarium. Join us for a fun and scary night of monster stories, inspired by our planets, moons, and stars. Join our 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. show for family-friendly stories about the creepy creatures of mythology hidden in the night sky. These showings are appropriate for ages 5 and up. Our 7 p.m. Spooktacular Show is more appropriate for ages 8 and up as the tales told during this show are spookier.  All shows last approximately 45 minutes.

Seating is limited and very popular. We encourage purchasing your tickets in advance, as this is a first come, first served event. Please call 850-664-1261, stop by the Science Center, or use our online ticketing option to purchase your tickets.

October 31st

An evening of Halloween fun for all ages awaits you at The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island. Join us for a fun & safe night of trick-or-treating, live entertainment, carnival games, costume contests, and more! Pick up your Treasure Map (AND your KIDS EAT FREE! voucher) at The Boardwalk’s Main Entrance, visit each merchant for a “X” on your map, then drop off your Treasure Map at The Crab Trap for a special treat! DJ Mantra will be spinning tunes, plus stilt-walkers and hula-hoop stunts! Captain Davy + Kirby-Jake and The Crossbones will entertain everyone with pirate shenanigans, magic, mayhem and more at Al’s Beach Club & Burger Bar from 5PM until 8PM. And don’t miss the  FIREWORKS grand finale at 8pm.

November 1st, 2nd and 3rd

The 36th Annual Thunderbird Intertribal Powwow is November 1st, 2nd & 3rd at at the Twin Oaks Park, Corner of FL Highway 85N & College Boulevard, Niceville Florida. Spend the day with craft makers, singers, dancers, flute players, storytellers, and exhibits.

Children’s Day: 9am – 2pm; Powwow: 7pm Grand Entry; Intertribal Dancing into the night
Saturday
Craft Competition: 10am – 11am; Grand Entry & Opening Ceremonies: Noon, followed by Intertribal, Exhibition, Competition Dancing until 5 pm
Night Grand Entry: 7pm followed by Intertribal, Social, & Exhibitions into the night
Sunday
Church Service: 10am-11am: at the Arena
Grand Entry: Noon, followed by Intertribal Dancing, Dance Exhibitions, Competitions Winners until 4pm

November 15th

Pints & Prints is November 15th from 5:45-8pm. Grab a pint and learn how to screen print at this event for ages 21 & up. Select from several of our designs, including holiday prints and punny science slogans. Check in begins at 5:45 p.m. so you can select your designs and grab your drinks before settling in at 6 p.m. to learn how to screen print! We’ll also have all museum exhibits and sciPad up and running for you to enjoy while you wait for your items to finish drying. Come get crafty and print some truly original holiday gifts for your loved ones this holiday season. Event for guests ages 21 and up only. Get ticket information here.

November 16th

Come out to Silver Sands School for a fun Fall Bazaar from 9am to 1pm at Silver Sands School on Holmes, Blvd in Fort Walton Beach. It features vendor booths, crafts, food trucks, student artwork, a yard sale and more!

November 23rd

It’s Military Appreciation Day at the Emerald Coast Science Center from 10am to 3pm on November 23rd.

All active duty members, veterans, and their families receive free admission to the museum today with valid military ID. Simply present your military ID at check in to receive museum access for your family. 

Schedule of Events

  • Check out the sciPad and play interactive games on our room-sized iPad from 12-3 p.m.
  • Join us for a Creature Feature at 1:30 p.m. where you can get up close with some of the center’s Animal Ambassadors. Seating for the Creature Feature is available on a first come, first served basis. No reservations accepted.
  • Museum indoor exhibit halls and outdoor exploration spaces are open 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

November 25, 26, 27 & 29th

Join us November 25, 26, 27, and 29 for fun fall activities! We’ll be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with new activities each day.  Hands-on workshops will run from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by either sciPad fun or a Creature Feature depending on the day.

Access to all activities included with general admission pricing. Military discounts available. Space at Fall for All is available on a first come, first served basis. Your RSVP helps us determine the number of guests to expect so we have ample materials. Get more details here.
