One of the Air Force’s Thunderbird pilots crashed today following a flyover for the Air Force Academy’s graduation ceremony. The F-16 crashed near Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, shortly after the flyover, and the pilot ejected safely.

According to The Tennessean a U.S. Blue Angel jet has crashed after takeoff during a practice flight this afternoon. WEARTV3 is reporting that a U.S. Navy spokesman confirmed at about 3:30 p.m. that a Blue Angel jet was involved in an incident.
UPDATE: The name of the pilot is being withheld pending next-of-kin requirements.
